For the third year in a row, Apple has
received the highest rating byGreenpeaceas part of a
annual report on ecology and respect for the environment. Different
points were noted by the organization for the protection and preservation of
nature, while it was also measuredthe use of
different energiesby companies, from the cleanest to the most
pollutants:
Five criteria, more precisely, are used by Greenpeace to allocate
the general note. We find in particular energy transparency,
energy efficiency, the deployment of renewable energies or even
commitment to the use of renewable energies.
Apple managed to obtain the grade of "A", the best, in 4 of these
criteria out of 5. On the side of the bad students, there are
Alibaba.com, which retrieves for example an "F" (the worst
note), for the criterion of transparency on the energies used.
Moreover, the efforts of Tim Cook's firm in favor of deployment
of green energies was noticed by Greenpeace, since according to its data,
Apple is now83% energy produced in a manner
own, the rest being divided between natural gas (4%), coal (5%)
and nuclear (5%).
The second company in the ranking to get closer to this very good score is
Facebook, which is at67 %of use
of green energy. Mark Zuckerberg's firm obtains the final grade of "A",
like Apple, and moreover likeGoogle, which is the company
who completes the podium in 3rd position.
We know that environmental protection is particularly important to us.
by Tim Cook, the efforts in recent months in this area have not been in vain. And
Apple will continue this momentum. For example, its next offices
main
Apple Campus 2, located in California and still under construction, are planned
to operate at100% green energy.
At the same time, Apple
increasingly encourages its subcontractorsto go in the same direction
favoring, for example, solar energy. And then proud of her progress,
firm had also presented its
Liam recycling roboton stage early last year.
