A report released by Citrix shows that Apple continues to make progress on the
business market.
If we already knew that the iPhone and the iPad were the most popular mobile devices
more purchased by companies, today we will see that at the level of
its mobile operating system iOS but also at the application level,
Apple has a lead over its competitors Microsoft and
Android :
The Citrix results are interesting because they are based on a wide range
of companies.
We realize thatiOS progresses with 58%of the market
company whileAndroid loses ground with 35%. In 3rd
position,Windows mobile only represents 7%despite the
significant presence of Windows workstations.
If we break down these figures by region, we see that iOS is
clearly in the lead with62% in the United Statesjust like in
Asia with 75%while inEurope, iOS no
represents that43%followed very closely byAndroid with
36%.
This also confirms the figures given for the individual market.
where the iPhone remains the leader in the US while it is Android which dominates in
Europe.
Citrix explains these figures by specifying that Android is less secure than
Apple's system and that too much malware is circulating for the open system of
Google.
If we look at the figures by sector of activity, Apple has a
good progress in the energy, legal and insurance industries,
transport, government, restaurants or even the hospital environment and
education. Android, for its part, is strengthening its position in the sectors of
communications or home care.
Among the 20 most used applications in business, we can see that
Numbers is the 4th most popular application while iBooks comes in 10th
followed by Pages.
This result is rather satisfactory because Apple applications cannot
be used only on its operating system unlike, for example,
Adobe Reader or Dropbox which exist on several platforms.
Overall, we can therefore say that Apple is starting to find a place for itself
choice in business.
