Apple Music and Podcasts could arrive on Windows

The information comes straight from the site9to5Mac —whose reputation is well established - which explains that according to several of its sources; the Apple Music and Podcasts applications would appear in the coming months on the Microsoft Store. The development of a new version of these two applications for Windows could mark the end of iTunes on computers equipped with Microsoft's OS.

If for MacBook owners iTunes has undergone a transformation with the arrival of macOS Catalina, the Windows version is still the same, and Apple would like to rejuvenate its application.Appleinsiderrecalls in this sense that the job offers made by Apple during 2019 already suggested that an Apple application was going to be transposed to Windows. If we better understand why these announcements were made by Apple, they did not make a lot of noise at the time and did not particularly attract attention.

A closed beta before arriving sometime in 2021?

Apple Musicand Podcasts are currently in the testing phase in a closed beta, the latter could last a few more weeks and no release date can yet be announced with the information we have today.

One thing is certain, the Podcasts application has definitely been talked about a lot in recent days. In fact, a week ago we informed you that the Apple brand wanted to offer a paid version of its application (Podcasts+) in order to offer exclusive content and compete with Spotify, who seems to have taken a good head starton this ground.

Deploy paid services outside the ecosystem

When they were launched, Apple services like Apple Music or Apple TV+ were the perfect candidates for a jump outside of the Apple ecosystem, and therefore, among others, towards Microsoft.

Because since the release of Windows 10, it is in fact possible for developers to design an application or software that is functional under Microsoft's OS, but also on Xbox One and HoloLens. A possibility that seems to greatly interest Apple.

Today, Apple's paid services already bring in billions of dollars per year for Apple. But very often users are already Apple hardware customers who want to benefit more fully from the firm's ecosystem. Exporting Apple services outside of this ecosystem could boost its turnover in the coming years, but also attract new customers to Apple.
