It's done ! After long years of waiting,the new Beats Pill speaker is finally availableon the website of the eponymous brand and on the Apple Online Store. You can also find the device in the official store for169,95 euros. Three colors are now available: champagne, flamboyant red and matte black. The price does not change depending on the model, but special editions could emerge in the future, this is not uncommon.
It is difficult to know if success has already been achieved for this new product from Beats (Apple subsidiary), but it apparently only takes one working day to receive the package at home - in France - by ordering it now .
The new Beats Pill had already beenannouncedlast July, after months of rumors. The product is also rather faithful to what was expected before the manufacturer lifted the veil on its design and its technical sheet. On the menu, however, we don't find anything very original, but the audio quality remains at the level of the competition at this price.

The new connected speakerBeats Pillweighs680 g, which turns out to be quite heavy for a product of this size. The dimensions are thus limited to 7 x 21.9 x 7.1 cm, which should however allow you to take the device anywhere with you without problem. Moreover, the manufacturer also provides a removable carrying strap.
To connect to the Beats Pill, simply use Bluetooth technology, compatible in its 5.3 generation with the speaker. Powered by a Li-ion battery, it offers up totwenty-four hours of listeningon a single charge. To power the device, Apple thought of theUSB-Cand therefore delights us by not offering proprietary connectivity, unlike the solution offered by its latest portable Macs. Please note, moreover, that the power cable for the Beats Pill is also provided in the box – but no power adapter to go with it, like on the iPhones from the same seller.
Several integrated controls make it easy to control the Beats Pill. These include the central button to control music and calls, or the volume buttons. Moreover, note that an additional button is dedicated to Bluetooth pairing and the voice assistant. You can therefore directly call the Beats Pill with Siri, rather practical especially since we know that Apple's AI will soon benefit from apartnership with OpenAI in final version.
The Beats Pill versus the HomePod mini
With this new Beats Pill, Apple offers itself a worthy competitor for the HomePod mini, which the firm already offers. The latter, however, is not portable, and must therefore have a wired connection to function correctly. This is also its main disadvantage.
Moreover, the two speakers offer a fairly similar experience, with a clear and precise rendering that has little to envy of the big names in the sector. The integration of the two products is particularly ideal with the rest of the Apple ecosystem. If you have an iPhone, Mac or iPad, it's very easy for you to pair them with your devices and those from Beats.
The HomePod mini, on the other hand, is more affordable than the new Beats Pill, since it can be found at the price of 109 euros today in the Apple Store. Five colors are now offered to users: blue, yellow, midnight, white and orange. It is also possible to invest in AppleCare+ insurance for 15 euros, while this service currently costs 39 euros with the Beats Pill.
