We were waiting for him andconcepts imagined it with a new design. Finally, the iMac has a new generation but this one does not benefitnot a makeover: Apple has just announced - via a simple press release - a 27-inch model of which only the internal technical sheet seems to have been modified. And the least we can say is that the beast has it in its belly!
Indeed, among the improvements proposed by the manufacturer, we find a FaceTime HD camera which goes to 1080p, a Retina screen whose definition now reaches5Kbut also the abandonment of the Fusion Drive in favor ofSSDuniquely. At this level, the iMac Pro and its space gray color no longer seem very far away…
Price and availability of the iMac 27″
The new iMac with a 27-inch panel is now available on the official Apple website, for a feefrom 2,099 to more than 10,000 euroswith options.You can click here to order it, it will then arrive at your home byAugust 6next, this Thursday. Impossible to find the device in the Apple Store at the moment, however. Obviously, it is always macOS which powers the computer,with Big Sur and its update expected for the fall in final version in the viewfinder. The processors offered here are Intel Core i5, i7 or i9 fromtenth generation, and the RAM ranges from 8 to 128 GB.

Behind the aluminum shell, we find the same plugs as before: two Thunderbolt 3 ports andUSB-C, four classic USB-A ports and an SDXC card slot. To this is finally added an Ethernet socket capable of offering speeds of up to10 Gbitper second, and a 3.5 mm jack for headphones. On the sound side, we also note a change here since the speakers and microphones are better than on the previous edition.
Finally, in terms of figures, note that Apple announces with this new 27-inch iMac performances “until65% higher“.
