Brand new, beautiful: here is the new 24″ iMac with M3 chip

Apple has just lifted the veil on a long-awaited new feature. This is a next generation iMac. It arrives 2 years after the last generation, released in May 2021 with Apple silicon M1 processor.

Oddly, the iMac skipped the second generation of in-house chips, so we find it at the end of 2023 equipped with the brand new Apple silicon SoC, M3.

What notable features for this new iMac M3

Before talking to you about price and availability, let's take a look at the major points of the machine's technical sheet

• SoC :Apple silicon M3 (8-core CPU and 8- or 10-core GPU depending on configuration)
• Screen :24 pouces, Retina 4.5K
• Basic storage and storage options:256 GB base, options at 512, 1 TB and 2 TB
• Basic RAM and options:8 GB base, 16 and 24 GB options
• Finishes:Blue, Green, Pink, Silver for the version with 8-core GPU, and in addition Yellow, Orange, Purple for the version with 10-core GPU
• Design :no change compared to the previous version
• Connections:Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6E, two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports and two optional USB 3 ports. Gigabit Ethernet also optional
• Accessories provided:Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard (without Touch ID for the 8-core GPU version, with Touch ID for the 10-core GPU version)

iMac M3: the price list

The old 24″ iMac with Apple silicon M1 chip (8 CPU cores and 7 GPU cores) started at €1,549 with 256 GB of storage and 8 GB of RAM. Below are the prices for the next generation 24″ iMac:

• iMac with M3 chip (8-core CPU and 8-core GPU), 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage:1 599 €
• iMac with M3 chip (8-core CPU and 10-core GPU), 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage:1 829 €

Upgrades for RAM and storage:

• Go from 8 to 16 GB of RAM: + €230
• Go from 8 to 24 GB of RAM: + €460
• Go from 256 to 512 GB of storage: + €230
• Go from 256 to 1 TB GB of storage: + €460
• Go from 256 to 2 TB GB of storage: + €920

When is the new Apple silicon M3 iMac coming out?

Here are the key dates for the release of this new iMac M3:

• November 7, 2023:first deliveries and first day of availability in store
