Price update October 2023.
Apple, since 2020, has offered a bundle for its service subscriptions. It's called Apple One. It aims to highlight the different solutions Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, iCloud, Apple News+ and the new Fitness+, such asexplained here. There is an obvious advantage for the user: the possibility of saving money.
Here are the details of the different amounts that Apple One bundled subscriptions save compared to separate subscriptions.
How much do Apple services cost separately?
First of all, here are the prices of each of Apple's services that we also find in the Apple One bundle:
- Apple Music: €4.99 for the Voice plan, €5.99 per month for students, €10.99 per month at normal rate and €16.99 per month for the family offer (6 users maximum), and up to 6 months free following the purchase of an Apple device
- Apple TV+: free with the Apple Music student subscription, otherwise €9.99 per month for up to 6 users (3 months free for any purchase of an iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac or Apple TV)
- Apple Arcade: €6.99 per month for up to 6 users (3 months free for any purchase of an iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac or Apple TV)
- iCloud+: €0.99 per month for 50 GB, €2.99 per month for 200 GB and €9.99 per month for 2 TB
- Apple Fitness+: €9.99 per month or €79.99 per year, or €6.67 per month over one year (3 months free for any purchase of an iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac or Apple TV)
- Apple News+: $9.99 per month (still unavailable in France for the moment). The hypothetical price in euros should be the same, i.e. €9.99
What savings with Apple One offers?
Apple One Individual: €19.95 per month and €9 saved
Here is the first Apple One subscription, called Apple One Individual. It includes the following services:
- Apple Music: individual offer (1 user only), value of €10.99 per month
- Apple TV+: classic offer (up to 6 users), value of €9.99 per month
- Apple Arcade: classic offer (up to 6 users), value of €6.99 per month
- iCloud+ 50 Go: value of €0.99 per month
The addition of the separate subscriptions gives28,96 €. Knowing that the Apple One Individual subscription costs19,95 €per month, the saving is therefore9 €per month compared to purchasing separate subscriptions.
Apple One Family: €25.95 per month and €11 saved
Here is the second Apple One subscription, called Apple One Family. It includes the following services:
- Apple Music: family offer (up to 6 users), value of €16.99 per month
- Apple TV+: classic offer (up to 6 users), value of €9.99 per month
- Apple Arcade: classic offer (up to 6 users), value of €6.99 per month
- iCloud+ 200 Go: value of €2.99 per month (in the case of family sharing, the 200 GB capacity is shared by all connected members)
The addition of the separate subscriptions gives36,96 €. Knowing that the Apple One Family subscription costs25,95 €per month, the saving is therefore11 €per month compared to purchasing separate subscriptions.
Apple One Premium: €34.95 per month and €19 saved
The third subscription differs depending on the geographic area. In France, as Apple News+ is not yet available here to date, this service is not offered in the bundle, although it is across the Atlantic. However, the price in dollars is the same as that in euros: $34.95 or €34.95 respectively. Until Apple News+ is offered in France, for the moment, Apple One Premium is therefore more interesting where Apple News+ is available. Without Apple News +, the savings made compared to purchasing subscriptions separately still remain interesting, as described below.
With Apple One Premium, you have access to:
- Apple Music: family offer (up to 6 users), value of €16.99 per month
- Apple TV+: classic offer (up to 6 users), value of €9.99 per month
- Apple Arcade: classic offer (up to 6 users), value of €6.99 per month
- iCloud+ 2 To: value of €9.99 per month
- Apple Fitness+: €9.99 per month
- Apple News+: $9.99 per month, not included in France at the moment
The addition of the separate subscriptions gives53,95€. Knowing that the Apple One Premium subscription costs34,95 €per month, the saving is there19 €per month compared to purchasing separate subscriptions.
It is obvious that the most expensive offer saves the most money. Note also that the cheapest subscription becomes advantageous as soon as you are interested in Apple Music and Apple TV+.
