This is one of the real surprises announced by Apple during the keynote this Tuesday. WithApple One, the Cupertino company now offers to group subscriptions to its services into one. Apple Music, Apple News+, Apple Arcade and iCloud will therefore only cost 14.95 euros per month for the cheapest offer. A very interesting opportunity which allows you to save 6 euros per month, and enormously simplifies the task for customers.
Spotify has already filed a complaint against Apple in the past
Apple One, however, is not to the taste of the Apple brand's competitors, particularly Spotify. The Swedish giant stepped up to the plate at the end of the keynotethrough a spokesperson:
Once again, Apple is using its dominant position and unfair practices to disadvantage its competitors and deprive consumers by favoring its own services. We call on competition authorities to act urgently to restrict Apple's anticompetitive behavior, which, if left unchecked, will cause irreparable harm to the developer community and threaten our collective freedoms to listen, to learn, create and connect.
Applerepliedshortly after, defending itself from any anti-competitive practice: “Customers can discover and enjoy alternatives to each of Apple's services. We're launching Apple One because it's great value for customers and an easy way to access Apple's full range of subscription services. We'll recommend the Apple One plan that saves you the most money based on the subscriptions you already have. It's perfect for anyone who loves any of our services and wants to get more for less, and it's especially great for families.»
In the past, Spotify has already taken action against Appleby filing a complaintto the European Commission. The reasons were then the same and the Swedish company accused its competitor of using its dominant position to try to gain the upper hand over its rivals.
