Since October 24, Apple has offered owners of compatible iPhones the option to upgrade toiOS 16.1. The update notably allows access to more “live activities” and the lock screen widgets are also developing. The Apple brand is also working on other aspects of its phone, without the user realizing it.
This is particularly the case ofSKAdNetwork, an iPhone feature that allows advertisers to get an idea of how successful ads are with users. But in a statement from Apple, there appears to be a problem with this feature of the iPhone.
A fix in the coming days
Apple explains on its “service status” page that a corrective update to iOS 16.1 should arrive in the coming days without giving many more details. Today we do not know exactly the reasons for this problem or the consequences for users.
Apple, as usual, communicates minimally on the subject. When the iOS 16.1 update arrived, the SKAdNetwork option was also updated to version 4.0. Apple assures that the bug should be resolved with a corrective update within a few days. iOS 16.1.1 should therefore be released later this month.
In December Apple is expected to make another, larger update to iOS 16.2. This new version of the iPhone operating system should provide access to new features, including the FreeForm collaborative work application.
iOS 16.2 for December?
Today iOS 16.2 is available in its beta version and only developers who are part of Apple's work program have the right to use this version. Unstable, it is not recommended to install the update on an iPhone which is your everyday phone.
As a reminder, Apple presented its new operating system for iPhone during the last edition of WWDC in June. With iOS 16, the iPhone is entitled to many changes, especially to the lock screen. To find the complete list of main changes with iOS 16,you can read this article.
