Apple is recruiting again at Sony and wants to acquire Agent 007

In order to continue to develop Apple Music and
its television penchant, Apple hasrecruited different experts
recently, including several found at Sony. Latest transfer to date,
that ofKim Rosenfeld, formerly director of the
programming at Sony TV, which therefore joined Tim Cook's firm, for
work onupcoming Apple series and documentaries,
according to the source. On the film side, Apple is on a war footing regarding
purchasing the James Bond film license, but is not the
the only strong candidate, Amazon is also in the mix:

It was precisely Sony, which until 2015 and the James Bond film “Spectre”,
had the film rights. But for 2 years, no contract has
been found to satisfy the different parties, knowing that many
suitors have announced themselves: Unversal, Fox, but also Warner, Sony,
more Amazon and Apple.

Interest in the James Bond films is enormous, as it is one of the
last major licenses still available, unlike Marvel, Pixar or
again Disney, which would have the potential to really weigh in the balance of
side of the users.

Thus, obtaining exclusivity for the Bond films could allow Apple to
give Apple Music a good boost. This strategy of exclusivity has
moreover always been one of the priorities of the firm for its service of
streaming, particularly with music and great artists who have released
some preview content on the Apple platform.

This in any case shows Apple's ambition on the video side for Apple
Music, a part of the service which continues to develop with now several
shows in broadcast, but also series in production, one of which
possibly with Dr. Dre. And it is also to help with this that we saw these
recent months Apple has recruited several content experts
television, including Kim Rozenfeld mentioned above, but also Max Aronson,
former assistant director of content development at Sony, or Ali
Woodruff, also former creative director at Sony.

In any case, if the price of the subscription does not change and more and more
variety of quality content is offered on Apple Music, this could
overshadow competitors confined to music like Spotify or even
Deezer.
