A drama full of suspense and emotion
The streaming service has just released the trailer for this film. The official synopsis revealed by the Apple brand also tells us more about what we can expect:
Since his sister's disappearance, Jax has been caring for his niece Roki on the Seneca-Cayuga reservation in Oklahoma. She devotes all her free time to searching for her missing sister, while helping Roki prepare for an upcoming powwow (a celebration that allows Native people to bring their cultural heritage to life and get together Editor's note). (…) The duo hits the road and travels through the hinterland to find Roki's mother in time for the powwow. What begins as research gradually evolves into a much deeper investigation into the complexities and contradictions of indigenous women operating in a colonized world while at the mercy of a failing justice system.
In addition to Lily Gladstone who plays the main role, we find in the cast: Isabel Deroy-Olson (Three Pines), Shea Whigham (Perry Mason), Ryan Begay (Dark Winds), Crystle Lightning (Good Doctor), Audrey Wasilewski (Everything Everywhere All at Once), or encore Tamara Podemski (Run).
It is of course difficult to say based on a single trailer, but this feature film in any case promises to be quite touching and seems to take the viewer into a captivating investigation. We will wait until June 28 to form a more precise opinion. For your part, what do you think of these first images? Tell us in the comments.
