Critics Choice Award: hat trick for the series Ted Lasso Apple TV+

Ted Lasso, Apple TV+ original series, racks up its collection of nominations and awards with three new Awards won as part of theCritics Choice Award. Actor Jason Sudeikis, already awarded a Golden Globea few weeks ago for his performance in the main role of the series, once again won the title ofbest actor in a comedy series.

He faced 5 other actors, Hank Azaria from the series “Brockmire”, Matt Berry from the series “We Do in the Shadows”, Nicholas Hoult from the series “The Great”, Eugene Levy from the series Schitt's Creek and Ramy Youssef from the Ramy series.

But that's not all for Ted Lasso. Indeed, the series also won the Critics Choice Award forbest comedy series, against the following competing series (in parentheses, the service producing the series in question):

  • Better Things (FX)
  • The Flight Attendant (HBO Max)
  • Mom (CBS)
  • PEN15 (Upstream)
  • Ramy (Hulu)
  • Schitt's Creek (Pop TV)
  • What We Do in the Shadows (FX)

And, as the saying goes, never two without three, this is a third reward that has been added to the lot for Ted Lasso. Actress Hannah Waddingham, playing Rebecca Welton in the series, received the Critics Choice Award frombest supporting actress, against the following competitors:

  • Lecy Goranson – The Conners (ABC)
  • Rita Moreno – One Day at a Time (Pop TV)
  • Annie Murphy – Schitt's Creek (Pop TV)
  • Ashley Park – Emily in Paris (Netflix)
  • Jaime Pressly – Mom (CBS)

This will only allow Ted Lasso to gain popularity, but also to probably see many new users arriving on Apple TV+, the platform broadcasting the series in question.

It is important for Apple's video platform to see its content highlighted in this way. Indeed, it does not yet have a substantial catalog and its delay in terms of choice of content compared to the competition, especially Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, is notable. Thus, displaying very good quality content, quality highlighted by awards at various ceremonies such as the Golden Globes and others, can be used tocounterbalance the lack of quantity.

Rather than offering hundreds of moderately interesting films and series, isn't it better to have only a few excellent contents, for which word of mouth among users works particularly well?

In any case, we are impatiently awaiting the continuation of the Ted Lasso series, which as indicated inour Apple TV+ release schedule, should arrive this summer.
