While waiting for a new Apple TV, its OS could undergo a major update

With the arrival of tvOS 15, Apple could do a major overhaul of its user interface on its Apple TV. The last two software system updatesof the casemay have left you wanting more, being ultimately quite minor, but Apple is reportedly planning a major update for its operating system in the coming months.

In addition to the new design, tvOS 15 should also bring complete parental control with screen time management and a “child” mode could appear on the interface. According to rumor, many of these new features should have already seen the light of day during the last tvOS update, but for a rather unclear reason, Apple decided to postpone these new features.

A tvOS 15 for a 6th generation Apple TV?

The new major tvOS updatecould therefore arrive at the same time as a new hardware solution for Apple customers. With a sixth generation of Apple TV, the Apple brand could offer never-before-seen storage capacities, going so far as to offer models with 512 GB (the maximum today is 64 GB for the Apple TV 4K ).

The other new features expected for this new generation will mainly be internal to Apple's case which should keep the same design. Indeed, the latter could arrive on the market with an A12 Bionic processor as well as larger RAM to allow better execution of video games.

Push Apple Arcade and Apple TV+ up

The direction that Apple seems to be taking with its TV box is to make its use as fluid as possible for fans of series, films and cinema in general, customers who would be likely to subscribe to an Apple TV+ subscription, the platform sorely needs it. Other paid service from Apple thatthe new generation of Apple TV could help, it's Apple Arcade.

With an improvement in the RAM capacities of the case, Apple is seeking to conquer a market that has always resisted it, that of video games. If the beginnings of Apple Arcade seem more successful than those of Apple TV+ (it is difficult to draw real conclusions, Apple disclosing no official figures) Apple's video game service is nevertheless struggling to find a place in a world where powerful PCs and consoles still largely dominate the market.
