A new Apple connected watch, which could be the Series 9, has just been spotted in the official Bluetooth SIG database. This is the organization that manages the wireless network standard of the same name. This information comes just a few days after another institution, this time in Asia, hinted atpotential iPhone 15.
The Apple Watch Series 9 should be very similar to theApple Watch Series 8, with a watch face of the same size and watchOS 10 as the operating system. Only the processor would be improved, with increased performance – on paper.
Series 8 and Series 9: the technical sheet
With this, we know that the Apple Watch Series 8 has many sensors, particularly for health. We can for example cite the case of the thermometer, the heart rate sensor, the accelerometer, the gyroscope or even the altimeter and the blood oximeter. The device is even capable of recording electrocardiograms with the ECG app, and the pedometer can count the number of steps taken during the day.
Apple Watches work alongside an iPhone, although rumors suggest that an iPad pairing may be on the way. The voice assistant Siri is obviously there, and manyimprovementsfor cyclists were announced at the Worldwide Developer Conference. This event, organized in June, was also an opportunity to discover iOS 17, the operating system which will equip the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro next month.
Price and availability
If the Apple Watch Series 9 is made official on September 12 (supposed date of the keynote), pre-orders could open as early as Friday September 15, for release in stores on Friday the 22nd.
The price should, as always, be more expensive for the version equipped with 4G. Not to mention the price of the different bracelets, which users can collect to adapt their style according to their current desires.
