Aftera recent announcement from AppleConcerning a drop in revenue for the last quarter of 2018, Apple held an internal meeting with its employees to take stock of the company's situation.
According to Bloomberg, during this meeting, the reasons for the decline in iPhone sales were discussed. But Tim Cook also spoke aboutthe impact of this drop on recruitment and certain projects, asl’Apple Car.
During this public meeting with his employees, Tim Cook announced that Apple willreduce the pace of recruitmentpoursome divisionsof society.
He says Apple needs to determine which divisions will have fewer new employees, to strengthen teams. For the previous fiscal year, Apple hired 9,000 new employees, for a total of 132,000.
This drop in recruitment will, however, not affect certain teams, considered important for the future of the company, such asthose dealing with services, or eventhe Artificial Intelligence division.
The teams responsible for Apple's upcoming TV content offering will also not be affected by this drop in recruitment. On the contrary, it is an important project for the Apple firm, which wants to increase the revenue generated by its services.
However, there is one project that would be strongly impacted by this drop in iPhone sales. It would beof the Apple Car, the autonomous driving system project.
According to industry sources, Apple is reportedlyseparated from a number of employees working on this project. It was even mentionedan abandonmentof the one.
