Well hidden in beta 5 of iOS 12… traces of dual-SIM support

According to thelatest rumors, Apple is expected to unveil three new iPhones at the start of the 2018 school year. Two models with 5.8 and 6.5 inch OLED screens, and a less expensive model with 6.1 inch LCD display. Some of these models might have Dual Sim functionality.

Indeed, Guilherme Rambo, an iOS developer known in the tech and Apple sphere, discovered a few lines of code in the5th beta of iOS 12. These latter refer to aDual Sim functionalityin the next version of iOS.

Part of the system that generates diagnostics under iOS 12, mentions “second SIM status” et “second SIM tram status“. This suggests aUpcoming support for Dual SIM functionality, in one or more of the next iPhones.

The Dual Sim allows a user to use2 SIM cards at the same timein your device to have a personal number and a professional number, this allows you to avoid carrying two mobile phones with you.

However, it is likely that this functionality is reserved formost expensive model, namelyl’iPhone X “Plus”. It is alsowhat the knowledgeable Mark Gurman suggestedfrom Bloomberg earlier this year.

Ideally Apple would surely like to use E-SIM technology, as is the case for the iPad Pro or the Apple Watch Series 3, but operators are still reluctant to this idea.

As a reminder, with Apple's eSim technology, the user no longer needs to replace the card each time they change operator since the card is capable of doing so on its own.
