Bracelets with modular links designed by Apple for its Watch

While Apple works
now on the third generation of Apple Watch which could offer a
new slimmer design, and certainly improvements in terms of
autonomy, the Cupertino company imagines how it could add
new features to the Apple Watch through the bracelet.

The US Patent Office has just published on its website a
new patent granted to Apple, and which describes how
usingbracelets with modular linkshe would be
possible to make the Apple Watch more useful while retaining the "finesse of the
housing".

Each link would offera specific functionalityin
depending on user needs, and would be connected to other links
electronics of the bracelet thanks to a flexible and conductive material.

Among the different uses mentioned in the patent, we can cite
batteries, speakers, kinetic energy generators,
mini-motors sending haptic feedback, or even biometric sensors
(pression sanguine, transpiration, etc…).

Other examples describe how these modular links could be
used asexternal portsin order to communicate with
other devices.

As usual with Apple patents, nothing says they will be
used for the next generations of Apple Watch, but this gives a
idea of possible developments for Apple Watch bracelets.
