48 megapixels for the back camera of the iPhone 14 Pro

He had already expressed it last April, and this would be for him the explanation oflatest stolen mobile schematics: for Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 14 Pro will be entitled to agrand-angleof better quality. More precisely, this would go from 12 megapixels on the iPhone 13 Pro to 48 megapixels with its successor. This will then result in more detailed photos for users.

The Taiwanese analyst delivered these conclusions in a post shared on his new Twitter account, opened just a few weeks ago. But his most precise predictions are above all reserved for the clients of his firm TFI Securities, most of them Asian investors managing large portfolios.

The main reason for the larger and more prominent rear-camera bump of the 14 Pro/Pro Max is upgrading the wide camera to 48MP (vs. 13 Pro/Pro Max's 12MP). The diagonal length of 48MP CIS will increase by 25-35%, and the height of 48MP's 7P lens will increase by 5-10%.https://t.co/lrwgmnLNce

High-end photo capabilities

That's not the only thing people assume about the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Indeed, our summary of the subject (available in full right here) also mentions the case of“periscope” lensesordered from Innotek, a subsidiary of the Korean manufacturer LG. Objective: to offer a better zoom, perhaps magnifying the captured images up to ten times.

However, all this information remains hypothetical at the moment, because Apple will not confirm it before the mobile presentation keynote. If the manufacturer's habits do not change, they will be revealed at a conference around September. This should be broadcast live on YouTube, as was the case for theiPhone SE and iPad Air 5G launch earlier this month.

The competition already knows how to do it

If 48 megapixels are indeed in the pipeline for the iPhone 14 Pro range, this should not pose a major problem to subcontracting circuits because most are already equipped for it. Especially since the sensors of Cupertino's wearable devices are manufactured bySony, who is far from being unknown on the photo market.

The competition is also there, with for example aSamsungGalaxy S22 equipped with a 50 megapixel lens just like the Galaxy S22+. References whose performance in this area has been praised by critics since their debut on the market.
