TheControl centercould change with iOS 18, according to the journalist fromBloombergMark Gurmanwhich we relay regularly. Unfortunately, our source of the day does not provide further details. We therefore do not know what additional features could appear within this interface, but it is true that certain improvements would be welcome.
For example, it is always impossible toturn off GPSsince theControl center, even though Apple does not hesitate to regularly tout its promise of privacy protection. On Android, however, this dedicated shortcut is indeed accessible by expanding the notifications bar.
A test would already be underway
According to other information emanating this time from our colleagues atMacRumors, the newControl centerof iOS 18 is already being tested by its developer. In other words, it is likely that iPhones are already equipped with it. But these are certainly reserved for Apple employees, the only ones able to discover the new features of iOS 18 before their official announcement in due form.
The new features of iOS 18are expected to be revealed at the Worldwide Developer Conference. This is an event organized by Apple in California and broadcast live on the internet, notably via YouTube. You will also be able to follow the announcements within our columns, in real time.
WWDC will also be an opportunity to discover macOS 15, probably. Both new operating systems are expected to be available in developer beta right after the conference, with a public beta in July. As for the final version, it is expected by the month ofseptemberof this year.
The Worldwide Developer Conference is scheduled forJune 10to June 14, with an opening keynote on the first day at 7 p.m. (Paris time).
What is the use ofControl center?
TheControl centercan be accessed at any time by swiping down from the top of the iPhone screen (or vice versa, on devices without Face ID like the third-generation iPhone SE).
With theControl center, Apple offers a range of shortcuts, notably fordisable (or almost) Wi-Fiand Bluetooth or to turn on the flashlight with the flash. The options displayed here are customizable, and some also use this panel to trigger a screen recording or to initiate a Focus mode.
