Before the
official launch ofiOS 9 this evening
around 7 p.m., Apple wanted to update its graph of
distribution of the different iOS on the certified developers site
Apple.
We thus learn that 87% of compatible machines (iPhone, iPad)
run under iOS 8. This chart was last updated
April, date on whichthis number
was at 80%.
This figure is measured for all machines that Apple sees connecting to
the App Store, whether to install new apps or for updates
day. There is undoubtedly a lack of machines for the people who use them most
basic but it is a good approximation of the current state of the park.
At the same time, 11% of other machines remained on iOS 7,
while 2% have an older OS. We are thinking in particular of old models
like iPhone 3GS and those before that couldn't upgrade to iOS 7.
We will monitor the speed of deployment of iOS 9 this year.
