In iOS, since version 18, you can change the name of the voice assistant, natively named Siri. In fact, it is the possibility of modifying the artificial intelligence trigger word. So, instead of having to say Siri before any request for action and/or information, you can choose any other word: Alexa, OK Google, Cerebro, HAL 9000, Mother, Kitt, or even Icarus , Samantha or Jarvis, worth seeing (did you spot the cinematographic references? Tell us in the comments).
Proper nouns work just as well as common nouns, which gives a wide range of possibilities.
Once you've decided what you want to name Siri, here's what to do.

Why change the name of Siri and what are the limitations?
You should know that by renaming Siri, the assistant becomesless effective. Indeed, with another name, your request must be made in two stages. You must first wake up Siri with the new word, pause and then make your request.
In comparison, with basic Siri naming, you can say “Siri” and directly submit your query in the same sentence.
However, it could be interesting to rename Siri, beyond the fun nature of it. We obviously think ofpeople with articulation difficulties. Thus, they can choose a word including phonemes that they master better to make it easier to call on Apple's voice assistant.
Remember that the functionality has only been present in iOS since version 18. You can at this stage install the iOS 18 beta to test it.Here we explain how to do it.
So, who among you renamed Siri, and what new name?
