How to stop Apple from listening to your Siri requests

We'll tell youspoke recently, Apple was reportedly accused by the newspaper The Guardian of allowing humans to listen to certain audio recordings made with Siri. Subcontractors would be tasked with listening to certain audio recordings captured by Siri from users, analyzing them and rating them for purposes of improving the technology underlying the AI

Apple responded that this only concerns 1% of Siri requests, and that Apple IDs are not associated with these requests to preserve user anonymity.

However, it seems that a number of you want a way to prevent Apple from potentially listening to your conversations with Siri. Jen Kaiser, an IT security expert, created an iOS profile to install that allowsto prevent Apple from recording your Siri requests on its servers.

The profile to download and install is hosted on GitHub, with publicly accessible source code, allowing anyone worried to check how the profile works. Namely, only block the recording of Siri requests by Apple.

Here is the procedure to follow, todownload and install this profileon youriPhone or iPad:

  • Launch the Safari browser on your iPhone or iPad, go to the GitHub websiteat this address
  • Press the buttonRaw, ThenAuthorizeprofile download

  • Complete the profile installation by pressingInstallertop right

From now on, Apple will no longer be able to record your Siri requests on its servers, to potentially listen to them.
