How to write the Apple logo  of the bitten apple on iPhone, iPad and Mac

As much as iOS can keep a few secrets and require a little reading to know its tricks, macOS knows how to be very secretive. Did you know, for example, that it is possible to quickly and simply write the Apple “apple” symbol using a keyboard shortcut? The logo can even be written quickly on iOS with a little manipulation. Here's how to do it.

On macOS

On Mac, the keyboard is full of interesting shortcuts to know if you like to optimize your typing on the computer. This often involves using classic key combinations with the 3 variants “ctrl”, “alt” (also called “option” key) and “cmd”. The “alt” will be used in particular to write the “apple” symbol: simply press “alt” and “&” simultaneously. The result of the combination: 

On iOS

The handling is different, since there are no “alt”, “cmd” and “ctrl” keys like on Mac. But is it still possible to have the logo? under the fingers. To do this, follow the following steps:

  • Add a replacement with the “+” button
  • In “Expression”, paste the previously copied logo
  • In “Shortcut”: enter what will serve as a shortcut to write the logo, for example “apple” or “logoapple”
  • Do “Save”

And there you have it, now, no matter where you are on the iPhone or iPad, if you write the chosen shortcut, “apple” for example, it will suggest or directly display the apple logo.

Note that care must be taken, inGeneral > Keyboard, to activate the “Prediction” option, to have the proposals displayed following the writing of a shortcut.
