How much memory consumption for 4K videos on the iPhone 6s? the numbers!

Knowing that the iPhone 6s can film
4K videos and knowing the different storage capacities (16, 64, and
128 GB), many people have wondered how much space a
4K video.

We have the answer thanks to a journalist, Marques Brownlee, who was able to try
the video functions of the iPhone 6s and go to the device settings
photo where the approximate sizes of the videos are indicated depending on the
chosen mode (720p, 1080p, and 4K).

Given the better image quality of 4K compared to 1080p, it is
logic that a 1 minute 4K video takes up more space than the same video in
1080p.

In the numbers, you need 375 MB for a 4K video of
duration of 1 minute
, compared to the same video in 1080p with a rate
of 30 frames per second takes up 130 MB of storage space.

For aiPhone 6s with a capacity of 16 GB, that gives 40 minutes of
4K video, around 3 hours for a 64 GB model, and double that for the model
à 128 Go
.

These latest figures do not take into account the storage space occupied
by iOS and other apps, so in reality it gives a little less than that.

In short, if you plan to often film in 4K, the 16 GB model is not
definitely a good idea. Fortunately, the choice of resolution is offered
in the iPhone 6s settings.
