L’iPhone 6is expected for September and the start of the
production is imminent. Among the new features expected with this news
generation, the increase in screen diagonal and the arrival of glass in
Sapphire crystal come first.
Regarding the latter, many contradictory rumors have already
circulated, particularly with regard to models which could, or not,
benefit from this virtually scratch-proof glass. According to the latest news, the
supplier of this new component,GT Advanced Technologies, could
not being able to provide as many screens as needed,
forcing Apple to make choices:
Apple's subcontractor would only be able to produce 45 million
of Sapphire crystal screens, a very insufficient figure compared to the
orders from Apple which would be around 68 million units.
This lack could force Apple to make choices in order to limit damage.
This is howonly models with a storage capacity of
64 GB could integrate a screen with Sapphire crystal glass.
Apple can certainly bring about differentiation between ranges of terminals, but
it would be a first that the arrival of a new component was not
generalized and depends on the level of memory, at least as far as
concerns the iPhone. We will therefore not forget to take very large tweezers
usual regarding these latest rumors as they seem astonishing.
As for production, as one might expect, it is on point
to start since the4.7 inch model would start to be
assembled from the 3rd week of Julywhile theversion
of 5.5 inches will have to wait until the second week of August, ceci
probably explaining the few leaks of spare parts concerning the
XXL model.
