Devialet launches the Mania portable speaker, its first of its kind

Devialet has just unveiled its Mania speaker, which connects toBluetooth 5.0to all your devices and can be easily transported thanks to a handle installed at the top. Until now, the French manufacturer, whose reputation is well established, specialized in fixed living room speakers. Its arrival on the mobile market has been long awaited by music fans: it is now done.

Mania is more compatibleAirPlay 2, Apple's in-house system which uses Wi-Fi to manage your connected objects in one click. You can therefore easily control the speaker from an Apple TV,an iPhone 14, a MacBook Pro or even an iPad.

Very heavy (literally)

With a weight that exceedstwo kilograms, the new Devialet enclosure will however not be dedicated to just any context. Adopting dimensions of 17.6 cm x 19.3 cm x 13.9 cm, the beast can even reach a maximum level of 95 dB. It's huge. Moreover, remember that above 80 dB, prolonged listening is harmful and dangerous for hearing. But in a rural setting, the Mania will stand out, including thanks to the certification forresist water(IPX4).

The Devialet Mania offers up to ten hours of autonomy according to its manufacturer, thanks to an integrated battery of3 200 mAhwhich charges via a USB-C socket or a proprietary docking station. Under the membrane, there are four full-range aluminum drivers and two woofers, guaranteeing deep and clear bass. In terms of performance, these are four coresARM Cortex-A53which propel sound, clocked at 1.4 GHz. A technology that Samsung also trusted with the chip in its Galaxy S6 Edge+, released in 2015.

A companion app for iOS

With its Mania speaker, Devialet also offersan associated platform and downloadable from the App Store. Free, this also allows you to control the brand's other speakers (Phantom). You can adjust the volume precisely, connect music services likeSpotifyand create a multiroom device with multiple outputs.

Devialet Mania is alreadyavailable on the official website of its manufacturer, from790 euros. A version created in partnership with the Paris Opera is also priced at 990 euros.
