The developer teams from the famous Epic Games studio, which is notably behind the game Fortnite, have announced a brand new partnership with a brand well known to all:LEGO. Multicolored bricks will therefore join the most famous free video game of the moment for an alliance that is as surprising as it is promising.
In the press release which formalized the partnership between the two companies, Epic Games announces that it intends to build a metaverse aimed at young people, all while working in agreement with LEGO which could have a more or less important place in the project .
Three main areas of work already known
Epic Games explains to us the three main axes that should direct this work. The first concerns the safety of children on the internet and their exposure to unsuitable content. The second important point for LEGO and Epic Games is to allow children and adults to configure their experience as much as possible, so that clear limits are set, and that use is as benevolent as possible.
Last but not least,Epic Gamesannounced that it is working on the issue of privacy so that the personal data of children present within this metaverse are protected in the best possible way. Apart from these three main areas of development, we do not yet know much about this metaverse, and new announcements should take place in the coming months to answer several of our questions.
Enjoy the best of both worlds
According to Niels B Christiansen, CEO of LEGO, the youngest“enjoy playing in digital and physical worlds”. They have no trouble making the difference between the two and can thus benefit from the best of these worlds.
Still according to the big boss of the red bricks, the creation of a metaverse could help children improve their imagination, creativity or even collaboration and communication skills. Very valuable skills in everyday life, even as a person, and therefore as an adult.
