  • There is a case welcoming Siri Remote and AirTag

Arriving in 2021, AirTags quickly emerged as a reference for geolocating your belongings by hanging them on them. These small tags signed by Apple, similar to Chipolo devices orSmartTagfrom Samsung, incorporate a Bluetooth chip and are natively compatible with iPhones, iPads and Macs thanks to a dedicated app: Locate.

In two years of good and loyal service, AirTags have regularly made the headlines. The opportunity to discover sometimes some rather original use cases for these accessories, sometimes more serious. Let's go.

1 – Collect

First of all, AirTags can be considered a good investment product – although this presents the risks that are necessarily associated with it. Indeed, these items are sometimes offered in limited edition, as whentwenty thousand of them were decorated with a little tiger on the occasion of the Japanese New Year. However, we know that in the long term Apple products – especially when they are rather unique and rare – often sell for more.

Let's take the case of the original iPhone: it would have sold “only” 1.39 million units according to the Statista site. But very recently,a particularly influential YouTuber was able to afford itone still in blister at auction for no less than forty thousand dollars. That is more than sixty-five times the base price of the device, offered at $599 when it was released! A good sign for the future of AirTags in limited series.

2 – Find your car in the parking lot

The AirTag can also be very useful for those who do not have a car connected to an app allowing it to be geolocated in real time. Simply place an AirTag in the car cabin, and its location will be accessible from the Find My app. You will even have the possibility, by activating this functionalityPrecise location, to be guided step by step towards Titine in augmented reality.

To take advantage of it, however, you will need to have an iPhone compatible with theUltra Wideband. This technology is available on iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, it is impossible to benefit from it in certain countries such as Russia, Indonesia or Nepal.

3 – To no longer lose the remote control or the keys

We no longer count the times we misplace everyday objects like our keys, the remote control or our wallet. Fortunately, by hiding an AirTag there with dedicated accessories, it is then easy to find them quickly and make them ring. A small speaker is in fact integrated into each beacon and, from the Locate app, it is possible to activate it remotely – as long as Bluetooth is within range.

To no longer lose your Siri Remote, for example, all you need to do is buy a silicone case which not only protects it from shocks but also has a slot for AirTag.You can find it from 16.99 euros on Amazon. Otherwise, for keys, Apple offers its own cases and many third-party accessory manufacturers do the same.

4 – The AirTag fights against bicycle theft

Another scenario with AirTags, among the most popular, consists of using them to solve a case of theft of a bicycle, electric scooter, etc. Simply hide the beacon in a discreet corner of your mount, or even surround it withsame color adhesive tapethan this one. If someone then steals your means of transport, finally use the Find My app to find it. Note, however, that certain models, including a bike from Decathlon and one from the Voltaire brand, are already equipped with a similar tracking system.

If you have identified the location of your property, do not go there yourself: this can be dangerous. Prefer to contact the local authorities and provide them with the identified contact details, to avoid any additional incidents.

5 – At the airport

Finally, note that AirTags are also very popular in transport, to the point of now representing a significant share of sales in the travel accessories sector. And for good reason: it is not uncommon at the airport not to see your suitcase on the conveyor belt after landing. Sometimes the airline finds the baggage, but sometimes not.

It is in this specific case that the AirTag is essential, in order to be able to transmit its position to the airport yourself. But be careful: in this type of case, volsare also spotted.
