Médiamétrie,
the French institute for audience measurement and marketing research has published its
annual report called "Internet Year 2015". It describes trends and
developments in internet practices in France, according to age groups and
the means of access. The figures highlight in particular, a use
more and more frequent use of the smartphone to surf

In 2015, these are50,7 %French people who own
smartphone, which have connectedevery day on the internethas
using their mobile device.46,9 %were connecting
daily on the web using a PC. This must be put into perspective with
the figures for 2013: in December of that year,79 %
internet connections were made via the computer
.

Looking at age groups, it is interesting to note that
96 %of the population aged 15 to 34 has a
smartphone, against84 %who own a computer. In
January 2015, 89% owned a computer. Among 34-49 year olds,
the computer is stillthe most used tool for surfing the

For the entire population, from January 2015 to January 2016, these are
154,000 fewer Internet users on desktop computers(in terms of
monthly visits to websites), but 2.5 million mobile internet users
plus.

In general, access to the internet is progressing for the population
française, with 447,000 more people on the internet in January
