It's a
subject often debated in our columns: Free Mobile's 4G coverage
remains very fragmented and even in 3G, the user often switches to the
Orange network.
But this could improve in the coming months.
Indeed, as part of a rebalancing of 4G frequencies allocated to
different French operators, the French regulatory authority comes
to allocate to Free a frequency band formerly used for
2G.
This is a reallocation of frequencies formerly used by SFR,
Orange and Bouygues. These can be used by Free from the 1st
January 2015 throughout the country.
It now remains to be seen how, when and where these frequencies can be used by
Free will produce their effect.
At the same time, these reallocations are made in return for a
coverage obligation. Free should according to its commitments
cover 25% of the French population on October 11, 2015, 60
% in 2019 and 75% in 2023.
To be continued next year for Free package holders
Mobile.
