Google still doesn't display privacy labels on the App Store

Since December 8, Apple has asked developers to provideconfidentiality labelswhich describe the data collected by their applications. The idea is to inform users when they make their choice on the App Store.

Google would work carefully on this file

Complying with this new rule sometimes takes a little time, and this is the case at Google. As noted by the siteMacRumors, the Mountain View firm still has no information available on its main services including Gmail, Google Maps, Chrome and YouTube.

The company had however promised to comply with the new regulationslast January 5. She announced to the American mediaTechCrunchthat the update would be added to its iOS applications “this week or next week". However, this was not the case. For the rest, Google has never given precise explanations for this delay.

Sarah Perez, the journalist ofTechCrunch, imagined, however, that the Tech giant could take care to work carefully on adding the information requested by Apple. We know that the subject of personal data is very sensitive for this type of company and that the use of this information is at the heart of their business model. The recent controversy surroundingWhatsAppshould also lead the Mountain View firm to move forward very cautiously on this issue.
