The
Apple stabdard warranty can be extended, product by product, by purchasing a
"Apple Care" (69 euros
for an iPhone, 79 euros for an iPad, see promotion currently at the end
of article) but the services and the way of repairing the equipment will
evolve. This is what was announced yesterday at Apple and a policy called
“One Apple” should be deployed in the US first and then in other countries
gradually.
Two main changes should be implemented: one
concerning the repair of the user's machine rather than its
replacement, the other concerning Apple Care coverage:
So, regarding the iPhone, while until now the replacement
by a new or reconditioned model was the rule whether during call
telephone support or in Apple Stores, this will no longer be the case.
From now on a maximum of repairs of the machine concerned will be carried out
so that the consumer gets their own machine back.
For this the Apple Stores concerned (US?) would already be able to process
speaker, central button, vibrator and battery failures. HAS
From June, this will be extended to the resolution of photo sensor problems,
screen, ignition button and electronic cards.
Apple could save a billion dollars per year once
the program will be rolled out all over the world. We quickly understand why...
In addition to the costs linked to the transport and (re)packaging of iPhones
replacement currently granted, some use the generous policy
current by claiming a problem in order to have a new iPhone as a replacement
of a worn machine.
Regarding Apple Care, changes could be made to
the offer. Mentioned in particular is asubscription model, or an option
complementarywhich could affectthe guarantee no longer applies
produced as currently, but for one person, for all his
Apple equipment. This is an option which, depending on the prices, could appeal to those
who have iPhone, iPad and Mac at home. No price appears to have been
revealed regarding this new feature.
