New elements support the upcoming abandonment of iTunes at Apple

It's software that has been supporting users of Apple products for years, 18 to be precise, but iTunes' days seem numbered. So,a first rumor last Aprilannounced an overhaul which could take the form ofseveral separate apps. This one isback in the spotlight this week, from a historically very well-informed journalist, a few days before the Apple conference this Monday.

OthersFresh observations have come since last night to confirm the rumors:

Apple has just removed all content (articles, photos and videos) relating to iTunes onthe dedicated page that the Californian giant maintained on Facebook.

This vacuum cleaning would have been performed within the last 24 hours, according to the cached information on the page.

At the same time, the followers (30 million) and the page would have mostly been transferred tothe Facebook page dedicated to the new Apple TV appwhich now displays a creation date of… 2009.

A similar cleaning was also spotted on thepage Instagram d’iTunes, reinforcing global changes regarding iTunes, beyond a simple reorganization limited to a Facebook page.

TheiTunes Twitter accountremains unchanged for the moment.

Finally, liens itunes.apple.compointing to songs and artists are now redirected to the domainmusic.apple.com. One more sign that the iTunes brand seems doomed to disappear.

More generally, depending on each type of content, a specific subdomain is already deployed and functional, here is the list:

  • apps.apple.com,
  • podcasts.apple.com,
  • tv.apple.com,
  • movies.apple.com
  • books.apple.com

We should know morestarting tomorrow Monday during the Apple keynotelaunch of WWDC 2019:
