- Tipster reveals potential iOS 17 features
- TheControl center, the modeConcentrationetSpotlightwould be improved
- The software will probably be released in September, after presentation in June
edit: on Twitter, the Frenchman @ihacktu was in fact the first to share these rumors.
In a short time, Apple will present all the new features of iOS 17, its next mobile operating system for iPhones and perhaps the latest iPod touch. For the moment, however, nothing is known about this software, at least officially. But an informant has just revealed what the program could offer for the general public, during its final version release probably planned forseptember.
We learn in particular thatall iPhones that are already compatible with iOS 16 will also be compatible with iOS 17, according to this source. Apple has not confirmed the file, as often. Concerning tablets, however, the situation would be a little different: iPadOS 17 could leave aside iPads powered by the A9 or A10 Fusion chips, but Apple has not yet made a definitive decision on this subject.
Design changes
With this, Apple would also have planned major appearance changes for theControl centerand forHealth, its platform which brings together cardio and nutritional data from connected objects. Users could also be given more options for adjusting the screenAlways onon compatible mobiles (this is not the case for “classic” iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus). And at the front, the buyers of smartphones where theDynamic Islandwould also see additional key information being deployed via it.
On the comfort side, Cupertino would allow iOS 17 to better manage itsnotifications, notably via the modeConcentrationwhich already offers the possibility of activating filters according to this or that app, the time of day, this or that contact…
Interactive widgets are coming
According toanalyst941, the Twitter account which shared these leaks, Apple would also be working on interactive widgets, that is to say giving pride of place to buttons and other means of controlling them directly from the home screen. Today, the widgets displayed on it remain quite limited, especially compared to the alternatives offered for several years onAndroid.
Finally, Apple would also have seriously improved search, among other things viaSpotlight. A potential novelty that echoes therumorsaccording to which the Apple firm is increasingly interested in the capabilities offered by language models like those of OpenAI. Some even go so far as to bet on the release ofa search engine from Apple, but we don't yet know exactly when.
