The menu "battery health status“, present within the Settings app on iPhone, could soon also appear on certain Apple tablets. These are two readers ofMacRumorswho managed to unearth the iPadOS 17.5 source code mentioning this change. Please note, however, that this version of the operating system is currently only available in beta.
The final version of iPadOS 17.5 should be released towards the end of April, if Apple does not change its habits in this area.We already know the list of new products that will be offered for the occasion, precisely because the beta version has recently been available. Please note, however, that this list is not exhaustive. Indeed, it is possible that new additional features will still emerge between now and the final version, in a few days.
Other new products in sight for June
iPadOS 17.5will however remain an updateminor, compared toiPadOS 18which could see the light of day during theWorldwide Developer Conference. The event is organized from June 10 to 14, and you will of course be able to follow it live in our columns.
We do not know if Apple plans to announce new features relating to the iPad battery during the conference. However, new tablets could indeed see the light of day in April. We are indeed expecting 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros as well as a 10.9-inch iPad Air and another 12.9-inch one as well. The iPad Pros would feature an OLED screen for the first time since the start of their range, but we do not remember any rumors concerning a possible better autonomy of the devices in question.
iPadOS would count recharge cycles
Finally, note that the source code of iPadOS 17.5 also mentions the case of the arrival ofcycle monitoring. This feature already allows, on iPhone, to know how many times the battery has been completely discharged. The higher the number, the more this negatively impacts battery health.
