iPhone 12: production launched, but without 120 Hz ProMotion screen?

The Nikkei newspaperrevealed a few days agothat the iPhone 12 would only enter the mass production phase around mid-September, for a release in October, therefore. This information was verified a few hours ago by informant Jon Prosser. According to him, mass production of the iPhone 12 would begin in the coming days.

Mass production started this week btw

He also claims that Apple's ProMotion screen technology, allowing a refresh rate of 120 Hz and seen on iPad Pro in particular, would not be present on the iPhone 12.Previous reportsalso already mentioned the absence of a 120 Hz screen on all iPhone 12 models, even Pro. It could in fact be that certain Apple subcontractors, specialized in the assembly of 120 Hz OLED screen panelshave fallen behind this year. This would mean that ProMotion technology with 120 Hz refresh could only arrive on iPhone in 2021.

Such technology underpins a smoother display for the human eye, which can be noticeable in games especially.

A lack of this characteristic on iPhone 12 therefore does not seem really impactful, in my opinion, even if on paper, it will be a technical argument in favor of competing Android smartphones, several models of which are already equipped with screens. at 120 Hz refresh rate.

Be careful though, Jon Prosser doesn't always see things right when it comes to Apple predictions. This information should therefore be considered with caution.
