iPhone 14 Plus: it would sell much better than the iPhone 13 mini, a success

  • A study tells us that screen deliveries for the iPhone 14 range differ significantly from previous models
  • The iPhone 14 Plus would sell much better than the iPhone 13 mini
  • The iPhone 14, on the other hand, has lower success than the iPhone 13, according to this analysis

According to a new report from DSCC (Display Supply Chain Consultants), the number of screens ordered by Apple for the iPhone 14 Pro would be 59% higher in recent weeks compared to the figure foriPhones 13 mini at the same period in 2022. Apple has decided to abandon the compact format in favor of a phablet without the technical characteristics of the Pro editions, and the recipe therefore seems to work. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not itself provide information on its results in this area.

The iPhone 14 Plus features a 6.7-inch display, which is the same size as thel’iPhone 14 Pro Max. But the triple rear photo sensor of the latter is not available on the iPhone 14 Plus, which uses the same camera as that of the “classic” iPhone 14. Under the hood, however, we find the A15 Bionic chip of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, with excellent performance.

Are the iPhone 14s losing speed?

On the iPhone 14 side, however, it seems that the number of screens produced by thesubcontractorsof Apple is in clear decline compared to that of iPhone 13 panels. This could in particular be explained by problems in the supply chain, but again these are only assumptions for the moment.

The iPhone 14s are Apple's mid-range models, with 6 GB of RAM and an imposing notch at the top of the display. NoDynamic Islandhere, but it could appear on the iPhone 15 at the end of 2023. The successors to the current range are expected in September, or perhaps a little later in stores.

Something new in the production circuit

The delays encountered by the iPhone 14 should not be repeated with the iPhone 15 in any case, if the relocation strategy that Apple is currently undertaking bears fruit. The firm actually wants to move away from China, because of the geopolitical tensions between this country and the United States. The position of the local government regarding the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and the island of Taiwan, in particular, questions officials across the Atlantic.

It is now rather towardsIndia and Vietnamthat Apple is turning, more or less forcing the hand of its suppliers. Those who do not keep up to date risk not seeing their contract renewed for the design of future iPhones.
