iPhone 16: Apple finally makes battery replacement easier

The products will arrive in stores a week later. The major material innovation ofiPhone 16 is undoubtedly the camera control buttonlocated on the side. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus battery is easy to remove

In a press release published on its official website, Apple explains that the internal design of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus has been revised“to accommodate an even larger battery and dissipate heat,while facilitating possible interventions on the battery».

A European Commission regulation that entered into force in August 2023 certainly has something to do with it. It stipulates that from 2027, consumers will be able toreplace the portable batteries of their electronic products, including smartphones, at any time.This is therefore good news, knowing that iOS 18 also has a feature to facilitate iPhone repair called Repair Assistant.

The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max not in the same boat?

Note that Apple does not use the same wording to describe the battery ofiPhone 16 Pro et Pro Max. The American manufacturer clearly indicates that it is more voluminous,but does not mention ease of intervention.Combined with the energy efficiency of the A18 chip, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus battery with a thermal substructure to dissipate heat should offergreater autonomy,but not only that.

Apple assures that the iPhone 16 offersup to 30% higher performance for video games. According to the Cupertino company, the battery composed of 100% recycled cobalt and more than 95% recycled lithium should therefore satisfy future owners of iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. Let's hope that buyers of the Pro and Pro Max models do not suffer from theoverheating issues experienced by iPhone 15 Pro usersin 2023.
