iPhone 16: new, more energy-efficient OLED screens?

The new iPhone 15 range was released barely two months ago, but as we are now accustomed to, rumors are already rife regarding the next generation of Apple smartphones.

The planned developments concern in particular the screens which are developed by Samsung on behalf of the Cupertino company. And in fact, the South Korean tech giant is reportedly working on a new OLED screen which would be more energy efficient according to our colleagues atThe Elec.

New materials for a better screen

Concretely, we know that the materials used for manufacturing can influence major characteristics such as brightness, lifespan, or color accuracy of the screen.

Samsung has therefore developed a new set called M14 intended for the iPhone which will be released in 2024. Enough to allow a real improvement in the energy efficiency of the latter. Concretely, the company will therefore replace blue fluorescent materials with blue phosphorescence. This should reduce the overall power consumption of the display.

Note thatMacRumorsindicates for its part that the iPhone 16 Pro will have a 6.3-inch screen, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max should have a 6.9-inch screen. As always, you must keep your distance from these rumors and be patient. Apple never communicates about its products before its launch presentations.

As a reminder, other information that reached us indicateda significant improvement in the camerato come, or the arrival of the Action button of the iPhone 15 Pro on the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Plus. You can also reread our article on this subjectici.
