As we move forward in
the year, the rhythmrumors about
l’iPhone 8accelerates. However, not all are equal, some
sources are more reliable than others and have better track records, this is
the case in particular of the revelations of the renowned KGI Securities analyst, Ming-Chi
Kuo.
Thanks to his sources close to the production lines, Ming-Chi Kuorecently published forecastswho saw an iPhone 8
witha size similar to the iPhone 7, but with the
battery and 5.5-inch screen of the Plus model.
In a note to investors, the analyst provides details on the
screen size and speaks of aarea reserved for functions
special at the bottom of the case.
This area would be located on the lower part of the screen where
is usually the Home/Touch ID button and would integrateof the
biometric technologiesallowing us to offer
features similar to Touch ID.
The bottom of the screen could therefore offerfunctions, shortcuts
and virtual buttons, a bit like the Touch Bar on the
new MacBook Pros from 2016, whose display changes depending on the apps
active on the screen.
Ming-Chi Kuo also states in his note that with this dedicated area at the bottom
of the screen, the screen area actually used for display would be
5.15 inchesfor a total device size of 5.8
inches.
At the same time, according toother rumors
recent, the iPhone 8 could offer an OLED screen, a solution for
wireless induction charging, a new all-glass design front and
rear, a steel chassis and perhaps a 3D sensor to offer, between
others,augmented reality features.
