It is not uncommon to
see an iPhone fall from a table or from its owner's pocket and
to break. So, when an iPhone falls from a plane at 2800 meters altitude and
that he was found almost undamaged, it's as incredible as it is annoying
for those who have already broken theirs...
Yet this is what happened to an American recently:
Ben Wilson, owner of an American company called Gas Corp. of
America, in fact, accidentally dropped his iPhone 5S from a plane
2800 m altitude as he left Houston for Wichita Falls, Texas, at
aboard a single-engine aircraft. As reported
NBC News, a change in pressure on board the plane caused a
passenger side door latch, no human damage but papers and
other objects flew away. It was only afterwards that Ben realized that
his iPhone was also missing...
The man could not imagine finding his phone still working,
but he tried to locate it using the “Find My iPhone” tool
from Apple (see
here how to use it). he then set out in search of his
precious iPhone that he finally found about 145 km from home in
a Texas ranch. An adventure during which the man was even able to sympathize
with a donkey he met by chance and “who helped him in his quest”.
The iPhone 5S was found almost unharmed, with only a few
small scratches at the corners. It worked perfectly despite the
fall probably thanks to bushes or other shock absorber and to the hull of
recharge that protected him.
And to think that from the top of a simple table...
