Streets of Rage, Street Fighter, Dizzie, Monkey Island, Final Fantasy, Grand
Theft Auto, ... we go on and on, and some of the best! The great retro classics
consoles are more and more numerous jostling at the gate of the
smartphones and tablets to live a second life, and that'sMegaman X
by Capcomwho took advantage of the end of year celebrations to arrive on
iPhone (not iPad). No test but a quick technical comparison in the
suite.
We wouldn't have enough of our ten fingers to count the different episodes
released from Megaman but one thing is certain: there were two generations,
the “normal” one (Megaman 1 to 10) and the “X” one started on Super Nintendo with
a cult first episode. This is the one that landed this week
latest discreetly on iPhone, in a completely redone version. In
indeed, goodbye to the charming pixels of the Nintendo version, the graphics here
have been redesigned and give the screenshots a “flash game” effect which is
dissipates when we see it rotating (see video). Compatibility with Retina
Display is of course insured.. Which leads us to wonder why
no iPad version has been released.
The music has also been remixed, but the game options allow
this time to switch to the originals. 80 challenges were also
included (the first 20 are not compatible with Game Center –
bizarre).
The next two videos reveal the first world, the first being on
iPhone and the second on Super Nintendo. There can't be better
comparative…
