“Epoch” test on iPhone and iPad: a game mixing shoot, robots and SF

Games based
on the very nice graphics engineUnreal Engine(Infinity
Blade, Dark Meadow) follow each other and are not alike (too much) and Epoch comes
prove it for a few days on the App Store. The creation of Uppercut Games
offers to enter a universe of robots, science fiction, big
guns, where you have to take cover and destroy the opponents in front.
It's simple and it's engaging.

Epoch is available here as a universal application on the App
Store (4.99€).

Epoch simply takes one of the (many) gameplay principles of a
another game that we no longer present on Playstation 3:
Uncharted! And more precisely its sequences of
gunfight. These in Uncharted were fun as they asked for a
certain dose of strategy and reflexes, forcing us to constantly
take cover behind pillars, ledges and the like, while shooting at the
opponents opposite who do exactly the same. Epoch will not look for more
far and takes up this part of the gameplay of Uncharted, certainly with a freedom
very directive movement (we're on iOS, don't mess around), but the
ingredients kept by the developer team are carefully measured to
provide great gaming pleasure. Let's add to that that the game is rather pretty,
that the design of the robots is pleasant, that their animations are
particularly careful and the whole thing is really gripping, and presto, we
is one of the must-haves of the moment on the App Store.

And you, what did you think of it?
