The App Store is a resource
of choice for those who like to play on a daily basis and on the move. The games occupy
indeed a majority of the more than a million applications offered. Apple,
remained relatively shy in the field for a long time, has since iOS 7
allowed the creation by manufacturers of accessories, controllers
official games. We talked about it and tested itin these different articles.
At the same time, research and development activity in this area
was running at full speed. We have just seen several patents in recent weeks
game-oriented applications filed by Apple. We rememberthis interesting
button transformed into Joystickor eventhe back
of the iPad becoming touchscreen.
Today, it is a patent which describes howtransformer l’iPhone
as a real portable consolewhich has just been
grantedto Apple:
The principle is not really revolutionary, it has been used on
controllers launched by third-party developers (Logitech in particular). It consists
to allow theinserting the iPhone into a caseendowed with
ordersbuttons and directional cross. A version
steering wheel oriented for driving is also mentioned in the patent, without
be illustrated.
The application for filing this patent finally granted dates back to 2010, a time
or the arrival of controllers for iPhone and even iPad was desired but far
to still be realized.
Since then, these controllers and other Gamepads have been available for iPhone and iPad,
without one feeling any particular enthusiasm nevertheless, probably
because of the price?
