The 1992 game Flashback returns to iPhone and iPad (Updated)

Flashback is a video game released in 1992 on consoles, including Mega Drive and Super Nintendo. It is a legendary title, in the sense that its very elaborate storyline left its mark on players of the time, as did its graphics and its soundtrack. In addition, it is not free from flaws, notably with a good latency in the character's movements, which makes the game particularly difficult.

Despite this, it has a certain charm and has therefore undergone various remasterizations in recent years, one of which was released in 2013 on PC, Xbox and PlayStation, then in 2018 on Nintendo Switch.

And recently, it has been up to mobile platforms to benefit from Paul Cusset's adventure. The latter, original designer of the game, oversaw a remake of his creation 27 years ago, adapted for smartphones and tablets.

And it is not a pure and simple port, but a modernized readaptation of Flashback, by its flagship developer, in collaboration with the publishing studio SFL Interactive.

Here is the trailer for this new Flashback Mobile:

The graphics have been revised, even if, as we see in the video, the retro style typical of the original game is still there. In addition, the sounds and music have also been reworked, as have the controls. In this regard, Flashback on mobile offers a choice of classic old-fashioned controls and new controls adapted to touch screens.

The title is available in French. This is a premium game containing no in-app purchases.

Who among you has already tested this new Flashback on iPhone and iPad? And who remembers the original title released in 1992?
