Apple should announce its next iPhones during the traditional back-to-school keynote in early September. Normally, this presentation, being the most important for the firm, because it reveals the new generation of iPhone, is done in public. Tim Cook and his colleagues therefore generally announce the new developments in front of an audience of journalists, while everything is also broadcast live online on the internet.
But this year, like the WWDC keynote, which was in fact a pre-recorded and edited video, the iPhone keynotecould be done without an audience.

A keynote on September 8?
And its sources possibly close to the Californian firm, the iPhone keynote should take place onSeptember 8. In the past, here are the dates on which the back-to-school iPhone keynote took place:
- 2016: Wednesday September 7
- 2017: Tuesday September 12
- 2018: Wednesday September 12
- 2019: Tuesday September 10
We see that the conferences generally take place on the second Tuesday or Wednesday of the month of September. It is therefore not very risky to announce the iPhone 12 keynote for theTuesday September 8, 2020. But Wednesday September 9 is a possible date which cannot be ruled out either.
iPhone 12, Apple Watch Series 6 et AirPower ?
Finally, in the same tweet mention is made of the arrival of the AirPower charger.
The latter would therefore be presented as part of this virtual back-to-school conference alongside theiPhone 12, obvious star of the event, but also new iPads as well asApple Watch Series 6, the Apple Watch being traditionally presented at the same time.
Recent rumors were indeed counting on arelaunch of the AirPower projectAfterson abandonfor technical difficulties in 2019. But it was difficult to predict for what date. The AirPower could therefore arrive while the iPhone would not containno more mains charger in its box, nor even headphones.
