Keynote: the long-awaited novelty, back

For Ming-Chi Kuo, famous expert analyst of the Apple firm, Apple will unveil the M3 chip and MacBook Pros equipped with this processor during theOctober 30 keynote. The only downside, and not the least: for the researcher, stocks could prove to be drastically limited – at least until the first quarter of 2024. However, the range in question notably includes the end-of-year holidays. And it's usually during this period that Apple generates the most revenue, with record sales for the entire year.

Should we see these as potential ominous estimates for the Apple firm's future results? Maybe. In any case, the AAPL share price on the Wall Street stock exchange remains strong for the moment. The stock also jumped by almost three points, following the announcement of the conference which will take place at the end of the month. It will be possible to follow it live, on YouTube, if Apple does not deviate from its habits in this area.

A basic model and two large sizes?

Apple has not yet confirmed whether these are indeed computers that will be presented on October 30, but it is very possible given the pace of release of MacBook Pros. We could then first discover a first 13-inch model, the most affordable and with an M3 chip under the hood.

With this, these are14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Prowhich could be renewed with M3 Pro and M3 Max processors. These would then follow the two editions currently available in stores, accessible from 2,399 euros for the smallest model. Both diagonals are eligible for updating tomacOS Sonoma, available for a few weeks now.

Potential release date

If Apple does indeed unveil new MacBook Pros during the October 30 keynote, we can assume that these laptops will be available from the following Friday (for pre-order). Or November 3, more precisely. But as stocks could therefore run out according to Ming-Chi Kuo, it is possible that the first deliveries will not take place for ten to fifteen days afterwards. Even a month, in the worst case. Such delays have already occurred at Apple in the past. So this wouldn't be a first.

I believe M3 series MacBook Pro will be Oct 30th media event's focus. I previously predicted a launch this year is unlikely due to limited 4Q23 shipments (less than 400-500k units in total). If new MBPs launch in Nov-Dec, tight supply will last into 1Q24 unless demand weakens.pic.twitter.com/R6tVIYyQop
