Apple would have bought the AirTag brand: the object tracker is confirmed

Apple is reportedly working on an object tracker, at least that's what many rumors have been reporting for several weeks. iOS 13 also revealed some clues on the subject, including images, but also a name.

Indeed, in iOS 13.2, we saw for the first time themention “AirTag”. And according to new information revealed by the Russian siteRBCand relayed byMacRumors, Apple would have purchased the AirTag brand from the Russian group ISBC.

The latter would also have confirmed the sale of the brand, without however giving details on the entity of the buyer.

Apple's tracker, or Apple Tag, as some analysts already called it, should therefore be called “AirTag”. Even if nothing is official at this stage, the various information gathered so far does not leave much room for doubt.

The biggest unknown so far regarding this Apple AirTag remains its release date. This summer, the specialists from the Californian firm were thinking of a presentation at an autumn conference, which would certainly not take place,as predicted here.

It seems that Apple has decided to wait a little longer than that. The Cupertino company certainly does not want to repeat the mistakes made with its AirPower, this multi-device wireless charger presented with great fanfare during a conference in 2017 then finally abandoned 2 years later.

Finally, apart from the recentAirPods Proand the release of the Mac Pro possibly within a few weeks, fall 2019 should remain relatively calm in terms of new Apple products.
