And so, this Keynote at the end of October?

In a week, the month of October will end. Will he take with him the hopes of seeing Apple offer a last keynote before 2020? Analysts, who until now were willingly counting on a new presentation from the Californian firm, to present several expected new features, are starting to change their tune.

John Gruber, specialist of the Californian firm andblog sur Daring Fireball, describes very well this wait during which doubt still hangs over the question of a keynote to come or not.

He discusses his analysis in a recent article, and explains why, according to him and the information available so far, Apple will not present a new special event in 2019.

New developments that don't deserve a keynote?

According to him, the new Apple products that are expected to be launched before 2020 do not carry enough weight to merit a presentation on stage.

And there are several new features here. On the one hand there would beAirPods Pro. These would be new AirPods incorporating noise reduction functionality and featuring an in-ear design. As iDropNews points out, AirPods are selling very well and are a real success in the market for headphones with voice assistant. A new Pro version would not need to be highlighted during a dedicated keynote.

Another product expected soon, anew 16-inch MacBook Pro. This would present several notable changes on the current generation: new keyboard with scissor keys, new screen size and refined design, latest generation CPU, among others. But in the end it would only be an update of an already existing product, and what's more, it would not change anything in the current range. In addition to that, it would target professionals with a price even more expensive than the current 15-inch MacBook Pro, starting at 2,700 euros.

In addition, recent rumors suggested that Apple could say more soon about one of its new projects, aobject trackerrevealed in particular in the code of iOS 13. But, after the setbacks of the AirPower wireless charger, announced in 2017 then abandoned in 2019, the Cupertino company would certainly aim to not make this mistake of too early an announcement. Its object tracker should only be talked about once the project is really mature.

Finally, some analysts are counting on iPad updates in the coming weeks. But it is not uncommon for Apple to update products on its website without a conference, signaling new features with a simple press release. If there are new iPads before 2020, it could well be that the Californian firm will not flaunt them during a keynote, all with the idea of leaving as much space as possible for the other major project of the moment , seeing the light of day soon, Apple TV+.

The launch of Apple TV+: too important

Indeed, Apple TV+ will be released on November 1st. This is Apple's new service, in the form of a subscription offering access to a catalog of films and series. The latter should contain several productions signed by the Cupertino company, including series produced or featuring big Hollywood names.

To hit hard in the video streaming market, Apple must therefore make the best possible entry. Registering as many subscribers as possible from the first weeks of availability will therefore be crucial for the service. Hence the fact that Tim Cook's company possibly wants to remain very quiet about other new products arriving before 2020, alongside Apple TV+.

Please note, this is a simple analysis of the current situation, trying to see what the chances are of seeing Apple offer a new keynote in the coming weeks. Nothing at the moment certifies that no new Apple conference is planned for 2019.

What is your opinion on the matter? Keynote coming or not, in your opinion?
