The 16-inch MacBook Pro in production: release at the end of October?

According to a new report from DigiTimes, Apple subcontractors, including Quanta Computer, are currently at the end of the assembly phase of the new 16-inch MacBook Pro. This machine has been the subject of many rumors lately. The latest version of macOS even revealed an important clue in this regard. And it seems, according to new information from the source, that these rumors will be confirmed by the end of the month.

Indeed, with this production phase underway for the computer and previous predictions about a possible release date, Apple is expected to make an announcement in the coming days about its new 16-inch MacBook Pro.

Remember that the latter should offer a resolution of 3,072 x 1,920 pixels with a 16-inch diagonal screen. The case would possibly be the same size as that of the current 15-inch MacBook Pro. The edges would therefore be thinner on the new machine.

Apart from the new screen size, the other important new feature would be the integration, not of a butterfly technology keyboard, but of scissor technology keys. For several years, Apple has faced a lot of criticism for the keyboard of its MacBook Pros with butterfly keys.

It therefore seems that the Apple firm has decided not to persist with this much-maligned keyboard.

Finally, note that the new 16-inch MacBook Pro should be positioned at the top of the MacBook Pro range, therefore more expensive and better equipped than the current 13 and 15-inch MacBook Pros. The latter would remain in the catalog until 2020 and the arrival of new models with scissor key keyboards as well.
